The 2nd Annual Dorland Health People Awards program fixes its spotlight on you—the individual practitioner, the in-the-trench team member, the daily care provider and the leaders who inspire, motivate and empower professionals—by recognizing healthcare professionals who are making a difference in transitioning the patient through the complicated healthcare landscape.

The Dorland Health People Awards set the benchmark for recognizing those who provide outstanding patient care and system improvements across the diverse healthcare landscape. From behavioral therapists and ethicists to case managers and social workers, the 2nd Annual Dorland Health People Awards honor the diligent, the influential—in short, the special—practitioners who coordinate and provide care to patients across the care continuum.

A special emphasis is placed on professionals who spearhead efforts to increase access to healthcare, and to ensure care is safe, quality-driven and cost-effective for consumers as well as for the organizations they represent.

The awards program culminates with a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on October 20, 2011 where the award winners will be announced amid a banquet and celebration. Additionally, all winners and honorable mentions will be featured in a special issue of Case In Point magazine and on DorlandHealth.com.
