Nine states have been chosen to receive two-year grants worth $300,000 to advance the education of nurses. Under the Academic Progression in Nursing program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the states will collaborate with academic facilities and employers on state and regional initiatives to produce a highly educated workforce. The states are California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Montana, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Texas and Washington.
