Messaging system gives updates to families during surgery
The Children's National Medical Center has collaborated with e3DataSolutions to design MyCareText, a cloud-based system in which hospitals can update the loved ones of surgery patients via text messages. The HIPAA-compliant mobile messaging technology, which was launched at the children's hospital last week, also allows staff members to send messages to patients informing them about things they cannot do before their procedures, such as eating or drinking.
