Maribeth Gallagher, a psychiatric nurse practitioner at the Hospice of the Valley in Arizona, was honored by the International Journal of Palliative Nursing for her work with the hospice's dementia program. Gallagher will also receive this year's program manager of the year award from the Visiting Nurse Associations of America. She used favorite songs to help patients, and she co-founded a program to help families of patients not yet eligible for hospice services.
