ONC: EHR use reaches 40% among primary care doctors
The number of primary care doctors who use EHRs has increased from 20% to 40% over the past two years, said Dr. Doug Fridsma, director of the Office of the National Coordinator's Office of Standards and Interoperability, at the recent ICD-10 Summit sponsored by the American Health Information Management Association. Fridsma stated that an incremental approach is important in establishing the basis for an interoperable health information exchange.
