Hospital chaplains may boost patient outcomes

satisfaction. Chaplains should be part of the health care team, said Harold Koenig of Duke University's Center for
Spirituality, Theology and Health. About two-thirds of hospitals in the U.S. offer chaplaincy services, while others depend on clergy from the community and lay volunteers.
