Patie[/CENTER]nts with depression who received telephone-based cognitive behavioral therapy were less likely to drop out compared with those in face-to-face therapy, according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The drop-out rate was 33% for in-person therapy and 21% for the phone-based group. A six-month followup, however, suggested that face-to-face therapy was more effective in reducing depression than the phone-based approach.
