Two-thirds of people with hepatitis C were born between 1945 and 1965, according to an analysis by the CDC. Mortality rates from hepatitis C will increase for the next 10 to 15 years without intervention, a CDC official said. Federal health officials are looking at the possibility of one-time blood tests for people in that age group, because many people who have the disease don't know it, as symptoms can take years to manifest.
