"Dignity therapy" adds to quality of life in study of terminally ill: Terminally ill patients who received "dignity therapy" -- an approach that involves patient-therapist conversations that can be taped and transcribed for sharing with loved ones -- had higher quality of life and improved sense of dignity compared with those who were given standard palliative care or client-centered therapy, a study in The Lancet Oncology found. Researchers saw no difference in distress levels among the three groups
