An American Health Information Management Association survey finds that the number of health groups that have
moved to the implementation or planning stages for ICD-10 conversion has increased from 62% last year to 85% this
year, with the Oct. 1, 2013, compliance deadline not far off. "It is critical for organizations to plan their implementation strategies carefully in order to leverage ICD-10 investments and move beyond mere compliance to attain a strategic
advantage," AHIMA said in a release.
