Healthcare Provider Database

The Healthcare Provider Database is a computerized database designed specifically for the needs of case management, software, insurance and information & referral programs. If you wish to do direct marketing or otherwise contact a specific type of provider, but don't need a high level of detail or the entire database, mailing lists are usually a more cost-effective option.

Database Contents

The Healthcare Provider Database is based on the Case Management Resource Guide -- the largest healthcare directory in print. Many of the more than 100,000 entries in the Healthcare Provider Database contain even more data than the print version. Developing such a comprehensive database in-house -- let alone maintaining it -- would be impractical even for very large organizations.

The Healthcare Provider Database contains more than 41 categories of facilities, services, and organizations as new specialized healthcare services emerge, new categories are added to the database each year. Virtually all facilities and programs that are JCAHO or CARF accredited, or Medicare certified, are included in the database.

All entries contain the organization name, address, city, state, ZIP, phone number and the type of facility or program. Most entries also contain additional data on services offered, accreditation, and staffing.

Data sources. To provide the most comprehensive and current information possible, data in the Healthcare Provider Database is collected from over 50 different sources. Sources include mail and phone surveys conducted by Dorland Healthcare Information, federal and state agency databases, and data obtained from associations and accrediting bodies.

Updates & release schedule. The database is updated continually throughout the year. Most licensees elect to receive the database once a year, usually in May, just after completion of the major data-updating cycle. A coding system gives you the option of merging updates into your system without losing data you have added to records between updates.

Database Pricing

The Healthcare Provider Database is licensed on an annual subscription basis. License fees are based upon the number of machines with access to the database, and the number of sites at which the data will be used.
