MissionHealthcare Effectiveness Review is a peer review journal published by Dorland Health in cooperation with Population Health Impact Institute (www.phiinstitute.org).Dorland’s Healthcare Effectiveness Review is a peer-reviewed online journal at www.dorlandhealth.com targeting innovative and emerging best practices in healthcare, health management and organizational improvement across the broad but interrelated continuum of care. Healthcare Effectiveness Review fills a current deficiency in the present system of information-sharing. Namely, that while various organizations have shown incremental successes on projects, implemented promising initiatives, adopted methods used to measure improvement in patient care, studied wellness initiatives, and experienced lower costs and higher productivity, many such studies—not to mention their outcomes and methodologies—are never disclosed or discussed outside of their organizations. Designed for rapid dissemination of concise peer-reviewed studies from cutting-edge programs aimed at measurably improving the health of defined populations, Healthcare Effectiveness Review focuses on populations and programs including wellness, case management, patient-centered medical home, healthcare information technology, remote monitoring devices, disease management, targeted benefit changes, consumer engagement strategies, organizational improvement and others. Healthcare Effectiveness Review is a subscription-based web-and-newsletter hybrid for forward-thinking healthcare executives and departmental leaders who wish to keep abreast of performance-enhancing strategies and programs across the care continuum. All articles undergo a rigorous peer-review process, ensuring the quality and learning potential of the ultimate published material. The peer review team consists of experienced healthcare professionals assembled by the Population Health Impact Institute. With a heavy interest in "preliminary findings" that advance the science of learning in our healthcare culture, Healthcare Effectiveness Review seeks to foster a “culture of learning” both within organizations and across the entire healthcare system. Peer Review Process All articles in Healthcare Effectiveness Review will undergo a peer-review process by at least two individuals before publication. In addition, there will be the opportunity for public peer-review and comments following an article’s publication. The articles in Healthcare Effectiveness Review convey actionable information in a readable format, maintaining a consistent structure that will be available to potential contributors. We promise a two-month turnaround from initial submission to action. All articles accepted for publication will appear within two months after acceptance.
