Summer is here so this is a good time to remind parents and babysitters about a few things that can prevent a disaster from happening.
First, do not leave a child in a closed car. Cars heat up quickly even with a window rolled down two inches. Statistics show that if the outside temperature is in the low 80s, the temperature inside the car can reach deadly levels in only 10 minutes.

Inflammation is defined as a localized reaction of tissue to irritation, injury or infection. Symptoms include pain, swelling and red coloration of the area. We commonly think of inflammation as the painful result of arthritis. But inflammation is also a component of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, depression, cancer and diabetes. That is why anti-inflammatory foods are so important. Below is a list of food groups and nutrients that contain foods with anti-inflammatory properties.

Caring for your feet is one of the many important things you can do — and need to do — if you are diabetic or if you have been told you have “poor circulation.” Diabetes, a condition having to do with your body’s production of blood sugar, often results in changes in blood supply to your feet.
Because of this you may not always feel things that are very hot or very cold. Or you may not feel it if you have hurt your toes or feet. These are the reasons why you need to take extra care of your feet if you have diabetes. As simple as this care may sound, it does mean that there is some work you must do — every day.
