Michelle A. Dart, MSN, PNP, CDE

Michelle A. Dart, MSN, PNP, CDE, is the author of Motivational Interviewing in Nursing Practice: Empowering the Patient. She has also been a contributing author to Nurse As Educator, written by Susan Bastable. She currently works in a pediatric office and facilitates a diabetes support group. She attained her bachelor of science degree in nursing at Elmira College in 1995. In 2001, she graduated from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., with a master’s of science degree in nursing and a pediatric nurse practitioner certificate. She is a certified diabetes educator. She began her journey with Motivational Interviewing when she received training for a position that required skills to help people with self-management of diabetes. Michelle is currently publishing a book for children with type 1 diabetes.
