Diane M. Schimmelbusch, RN, MBA

Diane Schimmelbusch is Regional Vice President, Inpatient Care Management for UnitedHealthcare Health Services responsible for direct oversight of inpatient management, discharge planning and readmission prevention for the Central and Southeast Regions. Within UnitedHealth Group she has held the position of Vice-President, Clinical Operations within Ovations, responsible for Clinical Call Center Performance and Operating Effectiveness, Training and Development, Risk Management/Compliance and Operations/Satisfaction Reporting and Regional Executive Director for Evercare’s South Region, where she led day-to-day operations and had P&L responsibility for Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Diane was self-employed as a Managed Care Consultant working with major employers and provider groups in the Houston, Texas area. Her professional career includes more than 20 years of managed care experience with expertise in health plan operations and case and utilization management. During her tenure in Texas, she held numerous positions with NYLCare and CIGNA. With CIGNA, she served as President and General Manager for Houston and Louisiana and, most recently, was the Regional Compliance Officer/Service Operations Liaison for CIGNA Healthcare, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona.

Diane earned her MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas; her BBA from The University of the State of New York, Albany, New York; and is a licensed Registered Nurse.
